TWO NATIONAL MEDALS FOR ST.BRENDAN'S

Athletics Ireland

AAI T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014
Day 3 of the AAI track & field championships took place on Saturday 26th July 2014 at Tullamore, Co. Offaly.  St. Brendan’s AC had three athletes in action on the day Riadh Malik, Lauren O’ Grady & Darragh Courtney.  Riadh & Lauren had a nice early start in the morning with both of them throwing very well.  Lauren’s final throw of 27.80m which was a personal best put her into second place. Riadh was unlucky not to medal after having a great competition.  Next up Darragh competed in the javelin but he too was also outside of medal contention but he still managed to throw a personal best. After that Darragh had the high jump competition with himself & another competitor from Ferrybank, Co. Waterford battling for first place.  There was little difference between the two & even on the countback they couldn’t be divided so Darragh was joint first & all-Ireland champion in the high jump competition!
