Munster Indoor Combined Events Championships 2017

Nenagh was again the venue for Munster Indoor Junior, U23 and Juveniles CE Championships 2017.



St.Brendan's AC had 8 juvenile members competing in pentathlon in different age categories over two days on 7th and 8th of January.
On Saturday St.Brendan's AC had sisters, Daisy (U14) and Lilly (U12) Nowak competed in 5 events on the day as the only girls from Kerry.



Daisy's events included : 60m hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and 800m and Lilly competed in 60m sprint, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt and 600m run.
Both girls did well to complete all events and improve on the points total from outdoor Combined Championships in 2016.

On Sunday 8th January it was boys turn to show some newly learned skills and our club had 6 athletes competing on the day. First timers to this competition were Aaron Horgan, Zach Walshe and Eoin O'Flaherty in U11 (60m, Shot Putt, 200m, Long Jump and 600m) , Tom O'Flaherty in U12 (60m, Shot Putt, High Jump, Long Jump and 800m) 
It was welcome back after year out from athletics to Jack Hannon in U14 and Breanndan Walsh in U15.



For younger athletes it was the very first time they could showcase new skills in Shot Putt and High Jump and did very well on the day with all the boys getting good results and got points in each event. 
Jack and Breanndan battled hard all day in 60m hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and 800m with Jack earning first medal for St.Brendan's AC in 2017, finishing second in his age category.
Well done to all club athletes and parents for traveling and supporting on the day.
